Poole continue winning ways against Bere Regis

On a wet and green wicket Poole Town captain Dave Miller decided to insert Bere Regis. At 65-2 Bere were quite happily moving along at a slow but steady pace. A fortunate run out and some steady accurate bowling from Wilson and Alam had Bere wobbling at 102-5. However a number of errors in the field allowed Bere to finish on 167-9. All bowlers managed at least one wicket with Kirk returning the days best figures of 2-24.

Poole’s reply got off to a disastrous start with Stonier out second ball. However Van Wyk was in the mood to take on the bowling and a hard hitting 50 ensued. When Van Wyk was out for a very entertaining 53 the score had moved onto 97. Like his front tooth Quinn’s forward defensive went missing and Brewster was quickly joined by Alam. Without further alarms and with some technical batting that England could do well to learn from the two giants of Poole took us home. A well earned 19 points and onto Broadstone next week.
