Poole ensure winning run does not stall at Stalbridge.

After an uncontested toss Poole asked Stalbridge to bat and Millers decision was soon vindicated by an opening stand of 48! However the Poole bowlers had all bowled a good line and length (Wilson 0-10 off 8)and these runs had taken a while. Alam (3-25)and Wormington (4-15)were soon amongst the wickets and Kirk returned for an excellent second spell to knock over the tail (3-26). Chasing 119 to win the toothless Quinn and Aryan opened the batting. However both were out with the score at 20 and Alam joined Armstrong at the crease. The cousins put on an excellent 50 against some excellent bowling from Sweatman and it was a surprise to everyone that Armstrong was out for a fluent 34. Ace fieldsman Marais then came to the crease and timed the ball to perfection from the off. When Alam was out for an excellent 34 Maidment was into his stride immediately with some well struck boundaries. A six from Maidment finished the game off in style and Poole ran out worthy winners by 6 wickets with over 15 overs to spare. A good solid win. Next week we are at home against Christchurch in Poole Park.
