Poole Town Junior Awards Day - Sept 2023

On a beautifully sunny September Saturday, the junior members of PTCC came together in Poole Park to celebrate a sensational 2023 season of cricket. All worries about weather in the lead up were unfounded as the sun shone on our talented players and their supportive families.

Our current junior section is absolutely fantastic, with some true stars in the making. Awards were given out for players at U8 up to U15, and it was lovely to see how much our young cricketers support all successes and cheer for every award winner.

Once all the awards and cup winners had been celebrated, it was time for Matt Reed’s final duties as outgoing Junior Chairman. Over the past five years, Matt has led the junior section, bringing through dozens of cricketers, many of whom have gone on to play adult cricket for the club. Matt handed over to the new Junior Chairman, Matt Keech (you have to be called Matt to get the job), who has a lot to live up to!

The ever-popular raffle raised £400 for the club, with the cricket kit the first thing to go as always! The BBQ and bar were exceptionally busy all afternoon - we couldn’t get the lager in the fridge quick enough to get cool before it was sold!

Thank you to everyone who came to the awards afternoon to celebrate our incredible junior cricketers and well done to all the winners! See you next year for the 2024 awards, and here’s to a successful indoor season.
