On a beautiful summers day Poole Town made the trip to Martinstown where the home side won the toss and elected to bat first. Sam Greene on first team debut bowled an ideal line and length and troubled both openers. With Badj Alam being his usual frugal self the tone was set for the rest of the innings with wickets falling at regular intervals. Joey Wormington was once again the pick of the bowlers with 4-14 with Alam close behind with 3-17. Charlie Arnold finished with 2-31 and Greene 1-24.
Poole needed 111 to win and Jay Van Wyk started the innings off with some delightful shots. Van Wyk was out for 34 but Surridge and Armstrong continued to put the Martinstown bowlers to the sword with Armstrong in particular being very pleasant on the eye! Poole crosses the line for the loss of only 3 wickets with over 25 overs left to bowl. A good solid team performance. On to next week and a big game against second place Sherborne.
