Poole Town continue fine form against Christchurch

Poole continue their good form with a convincing win against Christchurch. Christchurch elected to bat first and after a steady start Kirky had Francis caught behind with the score on 27. Wilson was soon into the attack and for the first time this season decided it was a good idea to try and get some wickets. At 58-4 Christchurch were wobbling but two or three decent partnerships took them to 159-9. Wilson 5 and Kirky 2 were the main Poole wicket takers. Wormington again continued his fine form though with 1-17 from his 10 overs. Poole’s reply stuttered along and at 80-5 the game was in the balance. However some decent hitting from Arnold together with quality batting from Badrul ”The Glue” Alam quickly took the score up to 151. Arnold was then caught out for an entertaining 43. Alam saw Poole over the line with a very mature 63 not out to ensure we won by 4 wickets with 15 overs to spare. We are away to Bere Regis on Saturday looking to avenge our defeat early in the season.
